It is with great sorrow that I report that Christy L. Stoyanoff, (F Troop, Dec.67-Dec.68) passed away yesterday 2/22/2010. He was my track commander on F 24 and was an outstanding Trooper as well as a great standup guy. Ken Heithoff (F Troop) was visiting him when he took a quick turn for the worse. He died peacefully and had been in ill health for some time. He called me "Griff" and to him I say R.I.P, day is done and your job was well done Brother.

 In Feb '69 F Trp 2/11 1st Plt was fighting in an NVA basecamp, during the initial ambush and subsequent fighting several Troopers in my platoon were wounded. During the fight it was reported in a Silver Star award I did something to save several Troopers lives. Other than the award citation I can not remember what happen
It the Trooper(s) who put me in for the Silver Star are out there I want to say Thank You. And hopefully you have enjoyed a properous and full life. Thank You for your Service
